D.S. Senanayake College beat Mahanama College 28-12 in their 10th annual traditional rugby encounter to retain the Battle of the Gold Trophy at the CR and FC ground in Colombo on Thursday (30).
Despite coming in as favourites, D.S. Senanayake had to face a tough opponent in Mahanama.
The winners scored from four tries, a conversion and two penalties while the losers scored two tries and a conversion for their points.
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
