First test match between Sri Lanka vs England will be played today at the Galle International Cricket Stadium. This is the final test match for left arm spinner Rangana Herath.
Rangana Herath's retirement comes after 92 test matches making him the left hand bowler with the most wickets taken in an international arena. Hearth has 430 test wickets to his name and 38 five wicket hauls.
Hearth's debut test match in 1999 was against Australia played in Galle and as such it was his wish to retire at the same venue . However rains have been reported in Galle and the grounds have remained wrapped in covers.
With discussions to move the Galle International Cricket ground to the Pinnaduwa area, should the decison go ahead, this would be the last match to be played at the present stadium.
