The second Twenty20 International between Sri Lanka and West Indies, the final game of the tour has been advanced by a day by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), after discussions with the touring West Indies Cricket officials. Officials of both cricket bodies and teams have come to this decision after November 12, the scheduled date for the second and final Twenty20, was declared a State National Day of Mourning following the demise of Venerable Madoluwawe Sobhitha Thero, an influential political figure of Sri Lanka. “SLC wishes to inform the general public that the second T20 match of the West Indies tour, which was to be played on November 12, has been rescheduled for November 11, at the same venue. This is in respect of November 12 being declared a National Day of Mourning,” SLC stated. “Tickets purchased for November 12 are valid for November 11. As a mark of respect, musical instruments, Papare bands, will not be permitted to be played on this day,” the statement issued by SLC added.
