Sri Lanka Sumo Federation and Colombo YMCA conduct a demonstration of Japanese Sumo from 4.00pm to 6.00pm at the YMCA Gymnasium Hall in Bristol Street, Colombo today (25). Women Sumo wrestlers will also be in action including the Sumo Kids. The organisers invite all for the demonstration session. In 1992, International Sumo Federation was formed and up to now 88 countries have joined including Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka has participated in two world championships one in Hong Kong in 2012 and one in Chinese Taipei in 2014 where one of our fighters clinched the 5th place in the under 115kg in the Asian Region. In 2015 Sri Lanka will be participating at the World Championships to be held in Osaka, Japan.
