Ceylon Mercantile industrial and workers union held a protest at Kollupitiya calling the government to address the increasing cost of living and day to day expenses of people.
The Colombo–Kandy main road at Pahala Kadugannawa has been closed indefinitely after a deadly rockfall in the area that left six people dead and four others injured.
