Communities around the country, particularly low-income families, are finding it increasingly difficult to acquire even a single meal as the country's economic crisis worsens. The Voice for Voiceless Foundation alleviates poverty-stricken people's suffering by operating community kitchens that serve over 220 people per day.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said today that unilateral action by the UK and other countries in imposing sanctions on certain individuals do not assist but serve to complicate the national reconciliation process underway in Sri Lanka.
