The National organization for preservation of rights of retired persons held a protest at Battaramulla.
They demanded the government to provide their pension payments for the person’s retired between 2016 and 2019. They held placards and banners and were calling to increase the pension by Rs 10 000.
More protests were held by state employees at the fort demanding a salary increase.
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
