Announcing the relief package worth Rs. 229 billion to public servants and tax cuts on essential items on Monday, Finance Minister Basis Rajapaksa said that the move was to ease the challenges faced by the public with increasing cost of living and other pandemic challenges.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said today that unilateral action by the UK and other countries in imposing sanctions on certain individuals do not assist but serve to complicate the national reconciliation process underway in Sri Lanka.
