Search teams on Saturday (15) recovered the bodies of a mother (47) and son (23) who were killed when their house was buried under a landslide in Thubaliyadda, Warakapola. The father (55) had earlier been pulled alive from the rubble and was being treated at the Warakapola Hospital.
The Colombo–Kandy main road at Pahala Kadugannawa has been closed indefinitely after a deadly rockfall in the area that left six people dead and four others injured.
