Hello Minister, what about our Sigiriya damsels?

By Amitha B. De Silva, Ekala Ja Ela

The Minister of Cultural Affairs has banned the imported cheer leaders who were dressed in micro-shorts displaying their nice legs, as it was not in our culture to have such exhibits. Hello Mr Minister, where are you?

Are you like that former JVP top-man who has not visited Sigiriya? If these girls are scantily dressed, what do you call our own Sigiriya damsels who are top-less? Are you going to send the Sports Minister to cover their breasts?

This ODI series is an international event sponsored by an Indian company. They have arranged for these cheer leaders. They were on at the Indian Premier League, so they thought if it was good for India why not Sri Lanka as both cultures are similar. What about the Olympics ? Are you going to ban our girl contingent - are you going to give them 'Redda and Hetta" to run ?

The universal truth is that men like girls - more girls and some more girls. If any man does not like girls, there is something wrong with him definitely. Come on Mr Minister don't be a spoil sport let us have these cheer leaders back in action.

I am sure that it will not spoil our culture. The international community will not have a bad thought about us - they know that these are not Sri Lankan beauties. If you want, tell the organizers to put some Kandyan Dancers also side by side. While enjoying cricket we can enjoy beauties and our culture as well!
