Sri Lankan design student Yasintha Jayasinghe's creation made mostly of coconut based material- the bra cups of transformed coconut shells and the straps of coconut bristle was on the catwalk at the Olympic City in Beijing on July 31 in the Triumph Inspiration Award contest before leading names in the field of fashion and design.
Thirty one designers from East and West were part of the grand catwalk show with the Triumph Inspiration award being won by Japanese design student Midori Matsuko. Yasintha's creation 'Transformed Beauty' though not winning any awards drew good reviews from the judging panel. The awards were presented by Olympic gold medalist Linford Christie and actress Michelle Lee.
Yasanthi, 22, is a student of the Academy of Design and won the Triumph competition conducted locally to take part in the international show.
