Nishkan takes oaths as 4th generation lawyer

Nishkan Krisnajit Parathalingam, son of President's Counsel S.A. Parathalingam and Mrs. Dilrukshi Parathalingam, Attorney-at-Law was among the latest batch of Attorneys-at- Law to take their oaths before the Supreme Court this week.

A graduate from King's College, London, Mr. Parathalingam is a fourth-generation lawyer. He is the great grandson of famous Queen's Counsel, the late C. Thiagalingam and grandson of Advocate T. Parathalingam. His sister Amrisha Parathalingam is a Barrister-at-Law of Lincoln's Inn and an Attorney-at-Law.

Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva and Justices Andrew Somawansa and P.A. Ratnayake welcomed the new Attorneys to the profession.

In a rare feature, Mr. Parathalingam apprenticed with former Additional Solicitor General P.A. Ratnayake in the Attorney General's Department and took his oaths before him after the elevation of Justice Ratnayake to the Supreme Court bench.
