The state-owned Embilipitiya Paper Mills is seeking an investor under a joint venture, public-private partnership, the Board of Investment (BOI) said this week. “This is a good investment opportunity,” it said.
Production at the mills owned by the National Paper Company Ltd and established in 1978 has been temporarily suspended, the BOI said adding that once additional capital is obtained production will resume. The plant has a capacity of 15,000 MT per annum and can manufacture fine grades of paper such as Writing and Printing Papers, Offset Printing Papers, Typewriting and Duplicating Papers, Manifold and Cartridge Papers. |
