A writer, journalist and qualified media personnel, Ashoka Kumara’s latest books will be released at the National Library auditorium, Colombo-7 on July 2 at 3.30 pm.
The two books ‘Wathman Maadhya Adyana Pravanatha’ (Trends in Contemporary Media) and ‘Nawa Kalamanakarana Sankalpa ha Pravurthi Kamaraya’ (News Management concepts and Newsroom) will be released under the patronage of the Minster of Media and Mass Communication, Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena.
Dr. Tudor Weerasinghe, senior journalist Mohan Samaranayake and SLBC chairman Hudson Samarasinghe are to deliver talks on the media related issues at the launch of the books which contain in-depth study on media and its latest trends and developments locally and internationally.
“The new developments and trends in the international media have paved the way to provide unbiased and impartial news coverage to the people.
In fact by applying these trends in our newsrooms we can obtain maximum benefit to serve the audience,” Ashoka who had done his higher studies in media and mass communication said.
Ashoka, a news reporter and subeditor attached to the SLBC had done his post graduate and Masters in Mass-communication at the University of Kelaniya and recently he underwent a course on International Broadcasting Journalism at Radio Netherlands Training Centre in the Netherlands. |
