Isabel kills Lankan youth
A 27-year-old Sri Lankan graduate living in Virginia, USA was among more than 20 people killed when hurricane Isabel hit the the US east coast recently.

Arubinda Deraniyagala was living with his brother and his family at Chesterfield Country, Virginia. On that fateful day Aurbinda and his brother Neil were anxious to find out what was happening as the hurricane hit the area. While gale-force winds were lashing out the brothers stepped out to see the destruction.

No one expected that this young life would be snatched away so cruelly. Arubinda carrying a large umbrella was blind to a crashing tree . He was crushed to death as the massive tree trunk virtually buried him alive.

The family of Arubinda held a funeral Service at St. Michaels's and All Angels Church, Polwatte and the ashes were interred at the Anglican Section, General Cemetery Kanatte, Borella.
