‘Sath Sanda Kirana’ goes in search of a dancer wife
Director Bermin Lylie Fernando of “Sanda Maddahana” fame has done another miniplay “Sath Sanda Kirana” being telecast on Rupavahini every Friday at 7.30 pm since October 3.

This 23-episodic teledrama revolves around a dancing girl, whose appearance attracts a man searching for his wife, who had disappeared. ‘Madhu Mega’ is a professional dancer whose lover is Devinda. Ramesh Iddamalgoda who sees her performing is surprised to see that she resembles his wife Janitha who has gone missing. Ramesh begins to interfere into Madhu’s life which affects her relationship with Devinda.

This situation almost reaches a breaking point for the couple who are already engaged. Devinda and Ramesh develop an enmity towards each other. Devinda meets with an accident which causes Madhu to distance herself from Devinda.

Meanwhile Waruni another dancer begins to sympathise with Devinda and they become emotionally entangled. Devinda goes abroad for further medical treatment during which period Madhu and Ramesh become lovers.

The teleplay takes a dramatic turn when Ramesh comes to know that his wife who had gone missing for a long time is alive. He then starts searching for her leading to complications in Madhu’s life.

Ranjan Ramanayake, Dilhani Ekanayake, Menike Attanayake, Nayana Rabhukkanage, Lucky Rathnayake, Kumudini Adikari and Sandun Wijesiri star in ‘Sath Sanda Kirana’.

In the technical crew are Pushpakumara Bandara Rajaguru handling the camera, K. B. Herath has written the script and Dilipa Ranasinghe has done the editing. Sanath Nandasiri, Rashmi Sangeetha and Kolitha Banu sing to the music of Navaratne Gamage. Sarath Wickrema directed the background music.
