Leo Burnett adds a global star to its team

Leo Burnett Solutions Inc (LBSI) – the Sri Lankan office of international communications giant Leo Burnett Worldwide (LBW) – recently welcomed award-winning U.K. based creative personality Trevor Kennedy, to its Sri Lankan team.

Kennedy joined Leo Burnett Solutions Inc earlier this month. as its Executive Creative Director, the company said.

Commenting on the new appointment, Ranil De Silva, Managing Director of LBSI, said that, “with his experience and success, Trevor will certainly help us to achieve our ambitions for our creative production.”

Kennedy joined McCann Erickson in 1980, straight from completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design at the Liverpool Polytechnic. It was here that he commenced his highly successful career by winning a Gold Clio and Gold Cannes Lion for his work on the prestigious Martini account.

Two years later, Kennedy transferred his expertise to Lowe Howard-Spink, where he spent several years creating innovative and inspired content. Whilst at Lowe Howard-Spink, he originated the acclaimed Russ Abbott Castella Classic campaign. He was also responsible for award winning work on accounts such as Heineken, Lloyds Bank, Ovaltine, Vauxhall and Gordon's Gin.

Since then his illustrious career has spanned several advertising agencies within several communications networks. In 1990, he moved to BBDO London as a Board Creative Director and subsequently became a Senior Board Creative Director for the Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO organisation in the same year. Later in 1998, he left AMV BBDO to start up the London office of Scholz & Friends as an Executive Creative Director in the management team and also for cross network campaigns for Group offices.
