CMF mosquito nets for
needy children
The Country Music Foundation (CMF) recently donated
1,500 mosquito nets to needy children in the Moneragala district
from the proceeds raised at the 2006 Country Roads charity concert.

The event was organized by Sarvodaya and Sarvodaya
leader Dr A.T. Ariyaratne was invited to distribute the nets under
the "Million nets for Million Children" project supported
by the CMF. All the children and their families came from the Moneragala
District.
The CMF raised Rs. 500,000 from the concert and
the entire proceeds were channelled to the 'Nets' project initiated
by Krishna (Arjuna Krishnaratne), the musician with a cause. In
the meantime await the CMF's blockbuster 15th annual concert tentatively
scheduled for February-March 2007.
