Guitars from KIT KAT for lucky customers

It was certainly a promotion with a difference – offering guitars to lucky consumers of KIT KAT.

Picture shows some of the winners of the KIT KAT promotion with representatives from Nestlé Lanka: Manager–Key Accounts Elmo Fernando, Channel Executive–Specialities & Maldives Lohika de Silva, Manager–Specialities & Maldives Eenaz Salie, Key Accounts Executive Thilan Prasanna, Assistant Vice President–Sales Chandana Fernando, and Sales Promotion & Planning Manager Rohan Fernando.

Nestle Lanka, in the fourth quarter of 2006, organised a promotion for its KIT KAT chocolate range to reward loyal consumers.
With the theme ‘I’m going to be a star with KIT KAT’, the promotion gave consumers the opportunity to win high-end guitars.
Anyone who purchased a KIT KAT Chunky or KIT KAT white chocolate at the Cargills, Keells and Arpico supermarket outlets during the promotion period was entitled to enter the grand draw by filling a coupon. Two electric guitars and eight acoustic guitars were on offer, a company statement said.

A spokesperson for Nestlé Lanka explained, “The supermarket promotion was planned to further enhance the existing presence of the Malaysian KIT KAT range. The music theme of the promotion complemented the relaxed, fun and youthful image of the popular chocolate brand.” The KIT KAT promotion was a great success with Nestlé Lanka receiving thousands of entries. The winners of the KIT KAT promotion 2006 are: Fizona Rasheed and Pathma Ramalingam who won electric guitars while Hashanthi Neranja, R.U.D.H. Rathnasiri, N.D.A.S. Kumara, Sumeda Gunarathna, Rohini Jayawardane, W.A.S.R. Kapukotuwa, Nelka Perera and Sudath Nettasinghe won acoustic guitars.

“I love KIT KAT Chunky and I’m so happy to have won this guitar,” explained one of the winners. “After my retirement, I was considering taking up a new hobby because I wanted to keep myself occupied. I enjoy music and now I have the opportunity to learn to play the guitar thanks to this promotion.”

Another winner is a music teacher from Matale: “This is a wonderful prize for me as I teach Eastern music at the local school and I wanted my son to learn to play the guitar.”
