We’ll take one match at a time
The warm-up game against New Zealand was a satisfactory start to Sri Lanka’s World Cup campaign even if the result was not in our favour. Thomians whip Royal blue & black
“I have been waiting for this since last year,” said the soft spoken captain of S. Thomas’ Ashan Peiris. Come join the party
The ninth edition of the World’s biggest cricket spectacle will be on show a few hours hence, when the revered West Indian legend Sir Garfield Sobers declares it open at the Trelawny Stadium in Jamaica this evening (Sri Lanka time).

You better watch out guys!
The teams participating in the World Cup have begun stretching themselves in earnest in their search to conquer the ultimate one day prize. An upset was created as the warm-up games began with Bangladesh getting the better of New Zealand. The Black Caps turned up in the Caribbean after crushing the Australians in a three match series. Although not at full strength, the powerful Aussies were well and truly beaten, giving Stephen Fleming’s team the tag of being the outsiders who could be the champs.
