Fine those poster pasters
Sri Lanka is a beautiful country which is visited by many tourists from afar.
But the posters found countrywide on parapet walls, lamp posts, bus halts, fallen trees and abandoned vehicles are an eye sore that spoil the beauty of many cities. Posters are also pasted on name boards obscuring the name of the road and the visibility of a person trying to locate them.
In many other countries we hardly see posters that are an eye sore. We have laws against smoking in public, using mobile phones while driving, etc… so why not enforce a law against putting up posters in public places. A place should be allocated to put up posters and those who put up posters wherever they please should be fined.
