‘Lama Tharu’ contest

The grand finale of X-Tra Lama Tharu talent contest will be held today Sunday, July 26 at the Ummu Maliha Memorial Hall of Jilan Madya Maha Vidyalaya in Keselwatte, Panadura.

Almost 12,000 applicants within the age group of 8 and 16 years were auditioned for their talents in singing, dancing and playing musical instruments and out of them 68 children were selected for the television appearance.

Having contested in three rounds, 16 finalists were selected for the grand finale in the ‘Most Talented’ by a panel of judges and ‘Most Popular’ by SMS voting. The panel of judges includes veterans Tulin Jayaratne, Lakshman Wijesekara, Nirmala Ranatunga, Ranjani Perera and Visha Manohari de Silva.

Five talented little stars will be selected at the grand finale. The children competing in the ‘Most Talented segment in Singing’ are Viranjan Prabashan Fernando, Dilki Navoda Polgampola, P. Hansika Rekhani and Ravindu Sathsara Rathnayake while the most popular singer will be selected from Chalana Navodya Ediriisngha, Madurika Nashali Ranasingha, Pasana Manisha Kalahe Lokuge and Dilini Ishara Perera.

K. Nimasha Sajani and Sanjana Yashodari Wijeweera will compete for Most Talented Dancer while Pramodhi Sithumina Amarasinghe, Pavani Disara Wimaladharmasuriya and Ravisha Malki Swarnapala will compete for the Most Popular Dancer.

Pasan J. Wasudewa, Dewni Lakshika and Tharshana Madhawa Perera are contesting for best musical instrument player.

Manoj Peiris will direct the music, Jinasiri Waduge will handle the TNL production and direction while Chandrapala Alwis will be in charge of the camera.

This television contest is produced and directed by TNL Chairman Shan Wickremesinghe and it is sponsored by Daintee Marketing Limited.
