The Central Bank’s Monetary Board has appointed new Assistant Governors with effect from August 10.
They are W. M.Karunaratne, Ms. P Liyanage, Ms. J .P. Mampitiya, Ms. C. K .Nanayakkara, B D W. A. Silva and Dr. P. N. Weerasinghe. Mr. Karunaratne, a former Director of Regional Development, has been appointed Assistant Governor in-charge of Agency Functions (Regional Development). He has served the CB for 30 years. Ms P. Liyanage, former Director of International Operations, is the new Assistant Governor in-charge of Economic & Price Stability (Policy Review & Monitoring). She has also served the bank for 30 years.
Ms. J. P. Mampitiya, former Director of Payments and Settlements, is Assistant Governor in-charge of Financial System Stability (Payments and Settlements) and IT Services, and has 28 years experience at the bank. Ms. C. K. Nanayakkara is the Assistant Governor in-charge of Corporate Services/Human Resources Management. She has 34 years experience at the bank.
Mr. Silva, former Director of Bank Supervision, has been appointed Assistant Governor in-charge of Financial System Stability. He has worked at the bank for 26 years. Dr. P. N. Weerasinghe, former Chief Economist and the Director of Economic Research, is the Assistant Governor in-charge of Economic and Price Stability. He has over 18 years experience at the bank. |
