‘Sankranthi Nimeshaya’ on stage

The maiden stage direction of Namal Nethranjana Weerabahu, ‘Sankranthi Nimeshaya’ will go on boards at 6 pm on August 22 at Wayamba Kala Kendraya.

Based on the lives of two youths, a Sinhalese and a Tamil who had suffered from the 30 years-old war, it is played by Berty Nihal Susiripala, Rohith Mannage, Anoja Chathuranganie, Nimal Wanigasekara, Mallika Ekanayake, Dharmaratne Subasinghe, Wasanthi Nisshanka, Chandana P. Herath, Indika Vijitha Bandara and Maduranga Wijesuriya.

Director Namal is an experienced theatre actor who had been playing for last thirteen years. First joined the theatre group of Prasannajith Abeysuriya, he now works with Dr. Sarathchandra’s theatre group and plays in the acts like ‘Maname’, ‘Sinhabahu’, ‘Kandha Walalu’ and ‘Premathi Jayathi Soko’. From the year 1997 he had been playing the role of ‘Potheguru’ for ‘Maname’ and ‘Sinhabahu’. Namal presently works at the National Film Corporation attached to the Bureau of Cinema Culture.

Produced by Roshan Sanjay Herath, music directed by S. A. Sadhananda, make up by Chamara Rajapaksa and lighting by Upali Weerasinghe.
