Well-known and award winning musician, Nimal Mendis returns to film music direction with ‘Suseema’ after more than two decades.
Nimal Mendis now living in America returned to the country recently after twenty years to direct music for Rohan Weliwita’s maiden film based on his popular teleplay ‘Suseema’.

The acclaimed musical score writer directed music for films like ‘Kalu Diya Dahara’, ‘Rampage’, ‘God King’, ‘Ganga Addara’, ‘Yahalu Yeheli’, ‘Ahasin Polowata’,‘Gehenu Lamai’and ‘Beddegama’.
His last film,Sumithra Peries’ ‘Duwata Mawaka Misa’ won him the Presidential Award for the Best Music Director in 1996.
A large number of compositions including ‘Master Sir’ which was sung by a number of singers and ‘Ganga Addara’ done by Nimal Mendis, have become perennial hits in both the cinema and music industry of the country.
The music direction for the teledrama version of ‘Suseema’ with six popular songs was done by late Clarence Wijewardena. While Nimal Mendis handles the musical score, young music band ‘CENTIGRADZ’ will remix three of Clarence’s original songs for the movie.
Suraj Mapa, Paboda Sandeepani, Saranga Disasekara, Robin Fernando, Kapila Sigera, Nirosha Thalagala and Dushmantha Prasad play the stellar cast in ‘Suseema’ while Dinesh Prasanga handled the camera and Janaka Inimankada did the art direction in the film which had completed its filming.
