HELP'S Department of Psychology is made up of an active student body with over 12 student clubs, which range from academic, social, charitable, to entrepreneurial. Career Exploration Club, Child Development Psychology Club, Clinical Psychology Interest Club and Community Outreach Society provide choices for students to engage in the field of most interest to them.
Apart from this, for students who are interested in conducting fieldwork for social benefit are also given the opportunity to work with UNICEF in their projects. HELP's students have worked with UNICEF in tsunami relief projects around South East Asia, among which our efforts have included child trauma relief. This is to provide an opportunity for students to serve and gain experience as interns or research assistants for UNICEF projects.
And as for students who wish to embark on other desired areas of work, drawing from the experience of studying Psychology, the CAREERSense@HELP, the Career Guidance and Testing Centre at HELP University College provides a stepping stone. It helps students to seek the careers they want while training them to develop the skills that employers look for, such as interview skills, resume building, and providing internships with organisations. Every year CAREER Sense@HELP organizes the Career Fair with dozens of multinational corporations such as Deloitte, Shell, Ogilvy and Mather, GE, EON Bank, Alliance Bank and others, drawing a whopping number of students signing up with companies.
