The Sri Lankan music loving public who were all enthusiastic to experience another spectacular musical extravaganza on 28th August at BMICH was into a deep shock to know that the event was not taking place as scheduled.
The back to back sell-out concert producer Rajiv Sebastian was advised even last April to undergo surgery but took no notice since he had to meet with his commitments here and overseas. However, 27th evening the performer was finding it difficult to bear the pain and had no other option but to consult his doctor, where he was advised to get himself admitted and undergo immediate surgery.
In the middle of all the pressure, the performer didn’t fail to contact the press and carried the news of postponement in all three daily English newspapers.
However, recovering fast back home after surgery under the guidance of Dr. Sarath Kollure, Rajiv was quick to make an open apology to the folks who didn’t see the news story and rode to BMICH.
For those who purchased tickets, please be in touch with the Daily Mirror and Sunday Times for the alternative date and time.
His latest ‘Legends of Kaffirinya’ will come alive on stage at BMICH soon. |
