Sri Lanka trounce Singapore 55-nil

Sri Lanka easily defeated Singapore by 55 points (5 goals and 4 tries) to nil in a Junior Rugby Asiad match played in Hong Kong yesterday. Sri Lanka led by 17 points to nil at lemons.

Kingswoodian Rajith Sansani started proceedings as early as the fifth minute. His try was converted by Trinitian Kenyon Armstrong.

Thomian Janik Jayasoriya scored two tries while Rajan’s Dharshan Attipola got a hat-trick. The other three tries were scored by Royalists Kalana Samarasinghe, Narein Dhason and Peterite Shenal Dias.
The Lankan juniors will face the winners of the match between hosts Hong Kong and Malaysia which was scheduled to be played later yesterday.
