In memory of a beloved teacher

Yasoma Wickramaarachchi

You inspired students to dream, work and fulfill potential, Planting seeds of curiosity, motivation and knowledge for students to grow and succeed, You were a teacher who nurtured new green sprouts, encouraged and led students whenever they had doubts.

Your sunny temperament always made studying a pleasure; Lessons of bright colours and a happy classroom atmosphere, You were a helpful guide while teaching lessons in Shakespeare drama.
The seeds you planted years ago are now coming into bloom, The young minds that have expanded under your care; the young minds you touched and influenced and improved, Hearts that are now serving others because they had you as a role model.

You gave us motivation to pursue the best and reject the commonplace, Your thinking really opened up the minds of your students with wisdom, style, grace, Showing students the wonders of the intellect to think for themselves.

You were a teacher who exercised the mental muscles of students, So they can make challenging decisions, find their way in the world and become independent.

You were a teacher who cared enough to gently push and prod students to do their best and fulfill their potential, THANK YOU teacher for helping us to know the things needed to learn, to live lives and grow.

THANK YOU teacher for being caring, kind and smart, having the students' best interests at heart, always, You helped us love to learn; always motivated with praise and sincerity, You were a teacher who influenced student lives in a positive way, Fostering optimism and confidence, providing knowledge,
Leading students to be worthy citizens making a positive contribution to society.

Fond students, Girls’ High School – Kandy
