The 6th Reggie Candappa (RC) Creative Awards Reggies will take place on December 11 with the RC Foundation doing things somewhat differently this year.
It is attempting to recognize, reward and encourage new, worthy and in some cases, neglected mediums of creative craft, the organisers said in a press release.
The Reggies will be calling for entries for exciting new categories such as Graphic Design forbest logo, stationery, business brochure, packaging and other corporate material; Book Design for best cover design and best entire book design; Best Use of Illustration on packaging, print campaign and political cartoon; Online Medium – best visual design for a website, best use of animation and motion graphics; and Best Photography – most powerful image of the year and best portfolio of photography for a Print Campaign.
Tasha Marikkar, grand daughter of the late Reggie Candappa and spearheading the event for the Reggie Candappa Foundation for the Arts this year, noted that The Reggies have always sought to reward and encourage those who strive to break creative boundaries and innovate and foster eccentricity. “In keeping with this ethos, the foundation has decided to incorporate these creative craft mediums into our programme. This is a time of innovation and transformation in communication with amazing opportunities for creative craft and the Reggies fully intend to be the catalyst that brings that home,” she said.
Entries will be accepted on November 12 between 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the Royal Colombo Golf Club – Ridgeways Room. The judging of entries will be made by a well respected and senior panel of Judges from the creative industry in Sri Lanka, with the exception of the online category where a reputed and experienced panel of foreign judges will be consulted, the organisers said. |
