Rainco recently launched a mosquito net to the market in partnership with Vesterguard Franderesrson of Switzerland.
The company said in a press release that PermaNet has the ability to repel mosquitoes and house flies. Recommended by the World Health Organisation, the nets have an insecticide applied to its netting fibre, and will remain on the surface of the net despite being washed.
The statement further said the insecticide - Deltamethrin - is safe for humans but repels mosquitoes and thereby claims to reduce the chances of attracting mosquito borne diseases. Since 2002, Rainco has been manufacturing mosquito nets which is largely a cottage industry. The company has developed five different sizes ranging from small to largest, is available via over 5,000 outlets island-wide, it said. |
