In view of the CIMA syllabus change in 2010, it will be the final opportunity for members and passed finalists of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) to fast track and qualify from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA ) UK availing of the exemption offer.
CIMA is today widely recognized and seen as a truly global qualification, with 3 main accounting bodies accepting the qualification by offering CIMA members direct membership. The 3 bodies are ACCA, CPA Australia and CMA Canada. Further, for migration purposes to UK, CIMA is classified as equivalent to a Master's degree.
Under this exclusive offer ICASL members and passed finalists can now register for CIMA by paying only a registration and subscription fee of £148 thereby making an overall saving up to Rs 120,000/- and gaining the chance of joining a group of world recognised Chartered Management Accountants. The free exemption offer is being made available only up to December 31 2009.
This offer, which is in recognition of the reciprocal exemption arrangement between CIMA and ICASL, offers free exemptions for 11 examination papers to ICASL members and passed finalists whereby they only have to take the Strategic level papers and the TOPCIMA case study to qualify. Over the years a large number of ICASL members and passed finalists have registered with CIMA via this specially designed accelerated route and have enhanced their career progression.
Speaking to the press on this special offer Bradley Emerson, Regional Director South Asia and Middle East said "There are many top corporate executives in Sri Lanka who are members of both CIMA and ICASL. Reciprocal arrangements of this nature no doubt gives an opportunity for cross fertilization of the members of both institutes. CIMA is happy to extend this exemption waiver for the second time in succession to members and passed finalists of ICASL".
