A local IT institute recently made official its decade-long relationship with Australia's Deakin University with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This MOU, signed between the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) and Deakin, is said to formalise "the close collaboration that has been strengthened over the years", spurred by "a consistent increase in the number of SLIIT students each year at Deakin", according to SLIIT Chancellor S. Karunaratne.
Further, Deakin representative, Associate Professor Dineli Mather, noted that SLIIT students have done well at the university thus far: “Their English skills are very good and they possess a solid technical background”, ultimately also resulting in "an increase in the number of SLIIT students being accepted for the Master’s and even PhD programmes". |
