Rare Fellowship in Maritime Navigation

Wijitha Lal Munidasa FRIN (UK) AMCMS (UK) who has been in the field of Maritime consultancy, arbitration law and Marine archaeology for nearly two decades has been admitted and elected in London and awarded the rare fellowship by the Royal Institute of Navigation of No. 01 Kensington Gore London SW2AT as from November 24, 2009.

Royal Institute of Navigation (UK) whose Chancellor Patron is His Royal Highness Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh is the only world recognized highly prestigious Navigation Institute established in the year 1947 in London.

This is the second British fellowship award received by him during the year 2009, having elected earlier to the membership of the society of consulting Marine Engineers and Ship Surveyor's of No. 202 Lambeth Road, London SEI 7 JW.

Established in the year 1914, which institute also sponsored him for the work based learning MSc course at Hendon Campus of Middlesex University UK. He is the only Sri Lankan to hold this prestigious fellowship since the inception in 1947.
