The new courses on offer at Flinders have also sparked a strong response from applicants.
Flinders University is a leading Australian university for courses in Health Sciences such as
degrees in medicine, health sciences, medical science, nursing, midwifery and paramedics for which the demand is always high. This year the university will welcome the first intake to several new courses including the Bachelor of Medical Science (Vision Science)/Master of Optometry, and also the first group of school leavers entering the undergraduate medical course pathway.
There has also been a significant interest in degrees in Teacher training, the generalist Arts and Science , Languages and the new combined Bachelor of Science (Marine Biology)/ Bachelor of Technology (Aquaculture). This increase in the competitive demand for places at Flinders and for some courses, has also necessitated increasing the entry scores for both local and international students for courses such as speech pathology, nutrition and dietetics, medical science, paramedics, biomedical and robotic engineering, midwifery, psychology and law.
Direct entry to undergraduate courses require 3 Sri Lanka A/Level passes or 2 London A/Level passes with the appropriate grades or scores specified by the university. Those with lower qualifications can also seek entry to a wide range of undergraduate courses through a variety of entry pathways. Flinders University also offers a Bachelor of Nursing (Registered Nurse entry) course" on completion of which Registered Nurses in Sri Lanka could seek to register and practise as a Nurse in South Australia.
