American College of Higher Education (ACHE) over the last 15 years has expanded its reach across the country by creating branch campuses in strategic locations such as Kandy, Galle, Negombo, Kurnegala and Matara. The expansion of the ACHE has been in conformity with its policy to provide equal access to modern education for both urban and rural students. All its educational programmes at degree, diploma and certificate levels in a wide range of disciplines have benefitted thousands of students not only from Sri Lanka but also from other countries of the South Asian region.

ACHE right from its inception has been on academic collaborations with prestigious American Higher educational institutions and universities .Its main partner, the Broward College in Florida, US has been constantly supporting and guiding the ACHE in its successes and achievements. Thus ACHE's affiliation with prestigious American Universities and Higher Educational institutions has provided the facility to transfer undergraduates to universities in the US and elsewhere.

The 4 year degree programmes offered by ACHE allow the students to complete the first two years in Sri Lanka and then to e transfer to a recognized university in the US or to a university in a country like Canada, Australia, UK ,Singapore, Malaysia or elsewhere depending on the student's preference. Students usually prefer to complete two years of the degree programme in Sri Lanka since it is cost effective and convenient. If their academic performance is good they are offered scholarships. This degree programme also gives them the opportunity to get accustomed to the American education system which makes it easier to adapt when transferred to the US. Most students perform well owing to this method.

ACHE further offers two year Associate Degrees in areas such as Science, Arts, Business, Administrative and Management Studies. It also has four year Bachelors Programmes that can be completed in Sri Lanka. These bachelors programmes are conferred by Excelsior College- a member of the University of the State of New York. This includes B.S in Human Resource Management, General Business and Information Technology.

The Tourism and Travel -Flight Services Diploma conducted in collaboration with the largest College in Canada, Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology in Toronto is one of the recent programmes introduced by ACHE. The first 10 months of this 18 month diploma can be completed in Sri Lanka while the remaining 8 can be completed in Canada. This is a professional diploma which covers a range of areas and that provides plenty of employment opportunities. After the completion of the programme the students are eligible to apply for a one year work permit in Canada or follow their higher studies at several recognized universities across the globe.

ACHE has been offering 80 recognized diploma and certificate courses in different disciplines ranging from Business, Human Resource Management, Education, English, Psychology to Information Technology and a number of computer and computer related programmes. ACHE also provides assistance for students to prepare for standardized exams such as IELTS, TOFEL, GRE, GMAT and SAT.
It is an Educational Institution with a multicultural background with a student population that represents all ethnicities along with a significant number of foreign students from countries like the Maldives, Japan, China and Philippines. These include fully air-conditioned classrooms, well equipped labs and a modern library.

Students are also encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities, social and community work and sports activities. Among the many recreational facilities are a student lounge, pool tables, a swimming pool and a Basket ball court. Students can now apply for registration for the forthcoming semester.
