Veteran rally driver Aravinda Premadasa produced an inspired performance to emerge the winner of the first special-stage rally conducted jointly by both the Motor Racing Association (MRA) and the Ceylon Motor Sports Club (CMSC).

The action which was played out at the Pelwatte Sugar Cooperation premises saw Premadasa from team Lancer Evolution VII outrace Shafraz Junaid from team Impreza WRX III and Mitsubishi Evolution X’s Dinesh Deheragoda who grabbed the second and third spots respectively.

Aravinda’s navigator during the race was Tharindu Perera. Shafraz Hamza Deen navigated for Shafraz Junaid while Sanjaya Roshan assisted Dinesh Deheragoda as team Mitsubishi Evolution X’s navigator.
