Some of Sri Lanka’s best amateur body building talent flexed its muscles at the 50th Novices Body Building Championship 2010 held on Friday at the Bishop’s College Auditorium.
The competition, which was held to discover unheralded talent within our country, saw a number of competitors from a range of gyms and fitness centres as well as the Sri Lanka Navy and Air force take the stage to impress a sizable and vociferous crowd.K. Rilwan from the Power Island Gym took first place for the 80 kg men’s division, while U. Perera from the Power man Sports Club and K. Peiries of the Y.M.B.A Wadduwa took home the prize for the 85kg and 90 kg divisions respectively.
President of SLBFF Interim Committee, Mr. Jeff Schucroft, also received a medal of honour from the International Federation of Body Building (IFBB) for his service to the sport of Body Building in Sri Lanka. |
