Popular songstress and teledrama actress Indika Upamali launched her maiden CD titled ‘Sanda Pahan Reye’ at the Elphinstone Theatre last week.
Her album produced under the Torana Music label includes award winning songs of Indika including a duet sung with Visharada Nanda Malini.
Indika’s popular hit ‘Sanda Pahan Reye’ along with the songs sung by her for the teledramas ‘Sulang Kirilli’, ‘Kanyavi’ and ‘Salamuthu Pinna’ are included in this new Torana production.
She had studied music under music maestro Premasiri Khemadasa and later joined the University of Performing Arts.
Also under Torana label, the DVD and VCD version of Prasanna Vithanage’s award-winning movie ‘Akasa Kusum’ and the book of the original screenplay hit the music stores last week.
After completing the Sri Lankan and international circuits, ‘Akasa Kusuma’ entered the third level of screening as a DVD.
‘Usually in the West, DVD too is released with the movie. But in Sri Lanka, it has to finish the two rounds to be on DVD. I have included the original movie with all censored scenes’ said Prasanna Vithanage at the launching ceremony.
