Mahinda advanced to the quarter-finals of Munchee Youth Under 19 limited over cricket tournament when they defeated St. Sebastian’s by the Parabola System in their pre-quarter final encounter played at Moratuwa yesterday.
The match was delayed due to bad light when Mahinda, chasing 181 for victory were 141 for 8. With the light fading very badly the umpires were forced to call off the match which gave Mahinda the win as they were ahead of the required target when play was called off.
Mahinda will now meet Trinity in the quarter final scheduled to be played on March 29 at the BRC ground.
