At the recently held biannual convocation of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), three of the Academy of Management Education (AME) students did themselves and their seat of learning proud by winning the prestigious and coveted awards for Financial Accounting and Tax Principles (P7), as well as in Financial Analysis (P8) when they walked on to the stage amidst loud applauses as the best in Sri Lanka. The winners are Ms. Thiviya Dashidaran and Ms. Kalaivathaney Ariyalingam for P7, whilst Mr. Charith Mendis beat the rest in P8.
This year's convocation had an aura of special significance as the President of CIMA Global, the Chief Guest, was the Sri Lankan-born top academic achiever Mr. Aubrey Joachim.
It was a moment of great relevance when CIMA Sri Lanka Division recognized and paid a glowing tribute for the magnificent contribution of AME's Mr. M. M. M. Tariq who was the highly commended Tutor for the year 2009.
It was also a memorable occasion for 318 students who passed their exam, 162 members, 10 fellows and 15 prize winners, to walk up to the stage to receive their respective certificates.
