Dewmith shines at TT


Dewmith Weerasena

Dewmith Weerasena attached to Grade 2 E of Lyceum International School Nugegoda is an up-and-coming table tennis player having several credits to his name.

He bagged the All Island TT Championship in the Under 8 category conducted by St. Joseph’s TT Players-Parents Association Kegalle in early May, the Under 8 Championship title at the 3rd TT Championships conducted by I&D TT Academy in late March and was a semi-finalist at the All Island Novices TT Championships conducted by the Wellawatta Sports Club in late April.

Dewmith was also the runner-up in the Under 8 singles category at the Western Province Junior Ranking TT Championships held on February 20 by the Western Province TT Association and was also the under 8 champion in the Inter-School TT Tournament this year.

He is being trained by Indika Prasad the veteran TT coach whose dedication and devotion to the sport has helped many children to achieve their goals.
