The team of Yohan Wijeratne and Sajin de Silva combined well to capture the men’s senior pairs event staged during the South West Monsoon Regatta held at the Colombo Rowing club yesterday.

The two combined well during their race on the Beira Lake to cross the line in a time of 3 minutes 55 seconds. In the equally important Royal Colombo Yacht Club men’s pairs event, Chamal Jayanetti and Sajin de Livera emerged victorious with a timing of 3 minutes 56 seconds over Arith Cooray and Sanjiva Jayasinghe of Royal College.
In the rest of the day’s competition Ismail Sadurdeen, Saishna Fernando, Nuwan Amarawardena, Milan Joseph and Vishan Gunatilleke secured the H.M.S men’s junior fours in 4 minutes 8 seconds. Amaya Jayasuriya from Ladies College won the Ladies Scull in 5 minutes. Anisha Goonesekera and Anishka Gomes took the Ladies pairs event in 4 minutes 36 seconds.
The winners of the mixed fours were Dilini Jayasekera, Amashi de Mel, Chamal Jayanetti, Sajeev de Silva, and Karan Elapatha.
