Encouraging hobbies among Sri Lankans

Hobbies are a dying creative past-time in Sri Lanka given the focus of the young on computers, IT games and SMS. Thus the Hobby Fair now running at the Sri Lankan Convention Centre was a pleasing sight for many young people who visited the exhibition on Friday. The fair ends today. On show are stamp and coin collections and various other hobbies. Seen here a teacher and her students are intrigued by a model helicoptor. -- Pic by J. Weerasekera.
