First Sri Lankan appointed to regional chamber

The 24th Confederation of Asia Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) Conference held last week in Colombo, elected current Deputy Vice Chairman of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) Suresh Shah as a Vice President of CACCI. According to a press release from the CCC, Mr. Shah is the first Sri Lankan to be elected to this post, a reflection of the importance the Asia Pacific region places in Sri Lanka as a key player.

Mr. Shah is Chief Executive and serves on the Board of The Ceylon Brewery PLC and Lion Brewery PLC. He also serves as a board member of Carson Cumberbatch & Co. and is a director of the Sri Lanka Business Development Center.

The press release further states that Mr. Shah has been actively involved in CCC activities for many years and sits on several Chamber Sub-Committees, including those relating to Economic & Fiscal Policy and Peace & Reconciliation. He also serves as Vice President of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors since 2009 and is a council member of The Employers Federation of Ceylon and the Industrial Association of Sri Lanka.
