Angeles University Foundation (AUF) is located in Angeles City, 80 kilometres north of Manila and is locally classified as a first class, highly urbanized city. AUF was established in May 1962, initially as a non-stock, non-profit educational institution. After less than 9 years of successful operation it was granted university status in April 1971 by the Department of Education, Culture & Sports of the Republic of Philippines. It has a wide range of degree programmes with Medicine being a main stream. They follow the American system of education in general.

The medicine course is divided into two parts, the first part being the accelerated Bachelor of Science programme (Pre-medical- for students with O levels) and the second part, the Doctor of Medicine (MD) programme. The entire course is conducted in the English medium.

MD degree awarded by the AFU is recognized by the Sri Lanka Medical Council, British Medical Council and those of many other countries and also enlisted in the WHO, ESFMG - USA etc.
