French-Canadian comedy-drama “Les invasions barbares” (The Barbarian invasions), will be screened at the Alliance Francaise Kotte, at 6.30 pm on Thursday July 22.
Directed by Denys Arcand, the film won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 76th Academy Awards in 2004.
Dying of cancer and having a difficult time accepting the reality of death and parallely feeling regretful about his past, Remy tries to find peace in his last moments. His estranged son Sebastien, his ex-wife Louise, ex-lovers and old friends will all come to him to “share” in his last breath!
