A one-day workshop for parenting

'Skilful Parenting and Childhood Psychological Wellbeing', a one-day workshop for parents organized by the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science (SLAAS) will be held on July 20 from 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. at SLAAS Auditorium.

Topics to be covered include: Understanding your child; How children learn; Creating a happy home environment for children; Behavioural problems and managing difficult childhood behaviours.

There will also be a discussion time. The workshop will be conducted by Prof. Manjula Vithanapathirana (Professor in Educational Psychology, University of Colombo), Dr. Piyanjali de Zoysa (Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology, University of Colombo), Dr. Buddhiprabha Pathirana (Senior Lecturer in Psychology, University of Peradeniya) and Ms. Santushi Amarasuriya (Lecturer in Behavioural Sciences, University of Colombo).

The workshop fee is Rs.5,000 all inclusive (lunch included). If both parents are attending it will be Rs. 7,500. Cash payments could be made to SLAAS office or cheques drawn in favour of 'Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science' and crossed A/C payee, accompanied with your details for contact could be posted to General Secretary, SLAAS or handed over to the SLAAS office.
