SSC rout Moratuwa SC inside two days

SSC routed Moratuwa SC with one day to spare by an innings and 13 runs in their encounter concluded at the Colts ground yesterday. Moratuwa SC were all out for a paltry 71 in the morning session of play.
Moratuwa SC made to follow on with a deficit of 224 runs despite a stand of 81 for the last wicket between Anuk de Alwis and Wishwa Fernando failed to avoid an innings as they were bowled out for 211.

Geeth and Umesh put Marians on top

Geeth Kumara and Umesh Karunaratne put on a 156 runs stand for the fourth wicket to put Chilaw Marians in a strong position against NCC at Maitland Place. The pair helped Chilaw Marians resuming from their overnight score of 167 for 3 make a mammoth score of 400 for 7 before declaring. Karunaratne made a 120 ball 98 which included 12 boundaries and two sixes while Kumara’s knockoff 99 comprised nine boundaries.

Ashan continues form

Ashan Priyanjan continued his batting form when he made another knock of 89 and was supported an unbeaten half ton by Lahiru Gamage helping Tamil Union come out on top against Ragama CC at P. Sara Stadium.

Tamil Union resuming from their overnight score of 199 for 6 went on to make a formidable score of 300 with Ragama CC making 194 for 6 when play stopped for the day.
