The exclusive Georges Hobeika launch to Asia, hosted by Business Development Head for Asia Dinesh Chandrasena will show a retrospective collection of Georges’ favourite pieces and the MASAI Collection for Fall/Winter 2010/11. The latter featured in Georges’ last show at The Louvre in Paris on July 5 this year, was the prelude to his next, which is in Colombo.

All proceeds from the event will be channelled towards First Lady Shiranthi Wickremasinghe Rajapaksa’s cancer charity, Carlton Suwa Sevana. The event is partnered by Standard Chartered Bank, IWS Holdings, Kuwait Airways, Cinnamon Grand Colombo, LIVING Magazine, HITZ FM and Ramani Fernando Salons.

Georges Hobeika’s designs are known for intricate beading, delicate embroidery, amazing drapes and unique fabric combinations. His clients include Eva Longoria, Diane Kruger, Venessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, songstress Rhiana, Holly Hunter and Hillary Swank.

Speaking from Paris, Georges Hobeika said, “Asia is a very strong luxury consumer market with clients who want the best in couture. This event opens up the perfect landscape for my label to expand, and Sri Lanka is geographically ideal with its centralized location. I believe that this is the beginning of a great future in the Asian market.”
